International HR Supervisor
Salary: $80-90k plus Bonus
Position Summary:
Responsible for supervising staff of two, who provide day-to day administrative
support for the expatriate program. Qualified candidate must both have a strong
math, analytical background and be able to work in a non-structured
environment. Experience within a global organization, with the ability to
interact across multiple countries, is beneficial.
Provide guidance and
direction on a broad range of activities related to the expatriate program such
as:
- Review/draft
assignment letters and interact with legal on the same.
- Analyze cost impact of
new and existing assignments and make recommendations to senior management.
- Discuss with the
international employees the tax equalization policy and coordinate tax
assistance with the preferred tax service provider.
- Ensure consistent
application of policy including ensuring exceptions is defensible, properly
approved and documented.
- Meet with expatriates
for their pre/post assignment consultation to discuss the intricacies of an
expatriate assignment and coordinate their initial meeting with the
preferred tax accounting firm (home/host).
- Analyze and interpret
cost of living data.
- Coordinate
international moves with the relocation department.
- Ensure that the
international payroll is accurately processed on a monthly basis, this
includes interaction with the offshore payroll team (Bermuda) and supervise
the admin support team in International HR.
- Manage the
organization of data (i.e., files, database) and the process of
communicating information.
- Work with business
unit HR, regional HR and Management on aspects of transfer
Policy
Development:
- Benchmark expatriate
policy against competitors and recommend improvements to expatriate policies
and program.
- Work on a variety of
special projects.
Competencies:
- Able to interact with
all levels and have strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to assume
responsibility for staff selection, training, management, development and
coaching.
- Very good knowledge of
expatriate compensation from an HR perspective and able to analyze and
advise on the application of our policies.
